The festive season is nearly upon us and at this time of year it seems that every publication comes up with a list of favourites. Following this time honoured tradition, we look back over the year at the products that we feel have really contributed to the digital print industry, awarding them with a coveted Image Reports Angel.

The UNIFORM Grenadier
We really rate the Uniform Grenadier, a high res, high speed, 6-colour true solvent printer, and the first machine to appear under B&P’s excellent Uniform brand of products.

Grenadiers were flying off the B&P stand at its launch during Sign UK in May, and to date there are some 450 machines out in the field.

With a low investment price and modest running costs, the Grenadier can handle both outdoor graphics and high quality interior applications that don’t require any finishing. It has the ability to be used on virtually any uncoated material available on the market today.

Built on a Roland chassis, the printer outputs at true 1440 x 1440 dpi resolution, enabling it to be used for photorealistic output but it can also be used to produce great results in its sign quality print mode, developed specifically for the production of displays, vehicle graphics and point-of-purchase applications.

Its commercial grade solvent inks are optimised for use on most roll-fed materials and fully controllable and integrated pre- and post-heat heaters enhance speed of throughput and allow for fast drying.

Available in print-only and print-and-cut options, the Uniform Grenadier comes in a choice of either 1370 or 1880mm (54 or 74 inch) widths for the former of these options and 1370mm for the print-and-cut version.
